Stoneworkers apply their craft without the use of mechanical fasteners (cement/mortar).
Dry-laid or dry-stack stone walls are walls that are constructed without using cement or mortar to bind them together. Our walls are built exclusively from stone and utlize the principles and techniques of dry stone walling–relying on physics and gravity to provide structural integrity for generations.
We prefer to work with native Vermont stone, sourced as close as possible to the project site. In some cases, we’re able to find usable stones on a client’s property. Other times, we bring in stones from local property owners where we have an arrangement to remove rock and clear land. If we’re building a patio or other project that requires a large amount of flat stones, we will source those from local quarries.
We often tell clients that our imagination is only limited by their budget and we always make every effort to accommodate the financial constraints of our clients. We have the experience to handle both large and small jobs, as well as the ability to spread larger projects out over the course of a few years.
