Our Stoneworkers

Jeb Porter

Jeb has been in landscaping most of his life–getting his start at age twelve when he and his brothers began a lawn mowing business. His introduction to stonework occurred in 1981 when his father encouraged him to try walling as an aesthetic option for disposing of rock removed from clearing land. After he gave Jeb a short overview of the basics of walling Jeb was hooked. Deciding to follow his passion for working outdoors and with his hands, Jeb became a self-taught master of the craft. Over the years, Jeb has developed a unique style that utilizes native and local Vermont stone to create landscapes of functional beauty that will last for generations. After more than 35 years of professionally building walls, he stills loves what he does for a living, and is happy to be sharing his knowledge with the next generation of wallers.
